Concrete Transportation Visitors Center (2023)
This vistor’s center project abstractly showcases the journey of concrete from: factory, packaging, transportation, and ultimately final construction usage. Users of the center are able to make the same sequential journey as concrete, immersed within an “assembly line” for learning. From oil rig tremies to clinker ships, much of the obscure information concerning the usage and lifecycle of concrete is made visible. This knowledge center differs from contemporary examples as visitors are encouraged to learn through observation as opposed to interaction due to the hazards of large vehicles, open waterways, and various automated overhead machines.
